Cool, all of that within a week?

There is no chance there is a visible change from a week of eating salads, no matter how fast your metabolism is.

If you look at yourself regularly and pay attention you can see your body change pretty rapidly. I’ve specifically watched my body bulking up on its own before burning those stored calories to build muscle and there’s a clear cycle of noticing a bit more pudge a few days before I suddenly make a big jump in cycling distance or how much I can lift (and the pudge also goes away at the same time)

If you stop eating for a week you can lose a cool 7kg of a lot more than just water mass. Get off your high (uninformed) horse

Read the original post ffs. They said “i ate better and walked a bunch”. Not “starved myself for a week”.

Yes, in less than a week even! Try it sometime. Its really cool to watch your body adjust and see just how much control you have over your body!

If you don’t regularly exercise and start exercising 5 days a week you will see the changes in your own body after about a week, you might see a small change on the scale after 2 weeks and after 4 weeks someone close to you should be able to see the changes in your body, and after 12 weeks someone you don’t see often should be able to see the changes in your body. Since you see yourself every day and you can feel how your body feels you can see the change very quickly

You aren’t going to “slim down” in a week no matter what you do. Read the freaking post too instead of jumping in with “excercise 5 times a week”. They said “I moved to Japan, ate better and walked around for a week and I got noticeably slimmer”. That’s not a true statement, simple as.

Actually the person you responded to in this thread (/u/Rentlar@lemmy.ca) shared a lived experience where they could observe changes in their body after just a week of drastic diet improvement, just as I’m sharing my own lived experiences where I can observe changes in my body related to diet and activity in just a week, while you’re just saying “Not. In. A. Week.”

I’ll just close by repeating myself: Try it sometime! Its really cool to watch your body adjust and see just how much control you have over your body!

I can lose 10lbs in 3 days if i quit drinking beer. 10 lbs is definitely noticeable. It’s definitely not a real change, just not being super bloated, but noticeable.

An average male adult will burn round about 2000kcal/day, which comes down to 2kg of fat per week (that’s 4.4 lbs in freedom units). To burn through 10 punds in three days, you’d have to finish an Ironman every day. And all that’s assuming that your calorie intake is zero, nada, niente. So if you’re loosing 10 pounds in three days, you are either an exceptional athlete or you’re just peeing a lot. That’s also the problem with all these “loose 10kg in 2 weeks” diets: What you’re loosing is water, not fat. And as soon as you end the diet it’s a matter of days to regain that weight .

GFY is ‘go fuck yourself’ most likely. Classy.

Edit from douchehorn: It’s good there was no class intended, because there was none.

Lol. Maybe you can help me out once more, as I’m a bit confused here, maybe it’s a cultural thing. Is it normal for Americans to throw around with swearwords while believing the others are impertinent, or is it just a chemicalprophet problem?

It does not seem uncommon for guys who are friendly with one another to throw insults at one another in a non-serious manner. That’s not really the relationship I have with my friends, but it is a thing. I’m not aware of that being much of a thing without some degree of established rapport though. He could have just been doing friendly ribbing as he said, but I think it’s more likely that he decided he was more annoyed at me than at you.
