My experience working support for a phone manufacturer has informed me that once an average user installs an app it tends to stay installed indefinitely, but they may or may not be aware it’s even installed. A gentle nudge notification of “hey look at me” every once in a while might very well be amazing for engagement

  • Probably a check. If this was a while ago or a smaller landlord that just doesn’t have a fancypants website with a payment portal they probably have to drop a check off at their office each month. I had to do that in the year of our lord two thousand and twenty one before I got my house

Edit to add: the lowish rent definitely supports either reason too. Small towns most businesses have no web presence beyond a Facebook page or maybe some static html made by the local computer place 5-15 years ago that they haven’t updated since then because they aren’t seeing the value in spending money to update it. It really is like going back in time technologically a good 15 years living in a small town

  • We usually do tex-mex style tacos with flour tortillas as a semi-lazy meal but depending on how lazy we’re feeling we may or may not warm the store bought tortillas. At some point we’ll have a night we go all out with homemade tortillas and all of the fixings for really devine tacos, but until then the fanciest we usually get is mixing our own seasoning and warming the tortillas

But I can’t imagine doing a wrap in a warm tortilla. Sandwiches (which include wraps) must be cold in my mind. Probably an just autistic texture thing on my part but whatever

  • Ooh I hope that’s the case because that would be much more convenient

Edit for anyone who stumbles on this: it works exactly like the above commenter described! It looks like there’s some opportunity to better communicate what DLC the “copy” you select is installing since it doesn’t show a full list of DLC but it at least shows who’s library it’s pulling from so you should be able to infer the full DLC list based on who has all of the DLC

  • I’m curious if this will improve DLC mismatches. For example, I’ve purchased most of the map DLCs for Euro & American Truck Simulator, but my wife only purchased the base game.

By memory she previously could access all of the DLC via library sharing until she purchased it, then she could only access the base game and not the shared DLC. It’s probably cleanest to keep it that way since you never know how different games handle DLC being activated and de-activated within an existing save, but it would be nice to not punish someone for playing a game with DLC via library sharing then purchasing the game for themselves and buying DLC later

  • who on earth is listening to hi-res wireless audio and not a song off of Spotify, YouTube, etc?

I generally agree with you but as someone who can’t hear the compression in a good quality mp3 I can definitely hear when Bluetooth is using an older audio encoding protocol because it compresses the music to hell and back

About 10 years ago I used headphones daily, now I do so just frequently enough that it’s irritating to realize I need to purchase a dongle just to do so and go “well I guess I’m not listening to music/podcasts right now”

What I learned when working for a phone manufacturer is that the headphone jack usage varies by product segment. Cheaper phone users use the headphone jack far more frequently than premium phone users, so they’d keep it on the budget models but drop it on the higher end models. They also did similar with NFC and wireless charging which was interesting…
