Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor has made clear she has no plans to step down, according to people close to her, despite calls from some on the left that President Joe Biden should be allowed to try to name a successor before President-elect Donald Trump takes office.
Because apparently we haven’t learned the lessons of RBG, and Sotomayor is happy to be keeping Aileen Cannon’s seat warm for her…
EDIT: We have a 51 seat majority right now, with Harris to break ties for the next two months. Manchin’s vote should not matter, and Republicans do not have the votes to stop it. The lesson of RBG is that people in their 80s with cancer don’t have great life expectancy.
