A mysterious fireball blazed across the sky in broad daylight on June 26, sparking hundreds of siting [sic] reports in Georgia and South Carolina. According to NASA, the meteor exploded over Georgia, creating booms heard by residents in the area.

University of Georgia planetary geologist Scott Harris said in a press release Friday that … the meteorite formed 4.56 billion years ago. That is roughly 20 million years older than the Earth.

Hooray. So, the meteorite formed 4.56 billion years ago and Earth formed 4.54 billion years ago.

Or, in other words: The asteroid was formed on 9th of August 4559997976 BC at 13:13 EDT, while the Earth was formed on 9th of August 4539997976 BC at 13:13 EDT /. What a coincidence, actually, that they were formed on the same minute of the same day and month! If this isn’t proof that a god exists, then WHAT IS?!

EDIT: I had overlooked that the article was written yesterday, not today. So, corrected “10th” to “9th”. EDIT2: Added the time because it’s mentioned in the article as well.

I was always wondering, from what point do we start counting age of matter? What’s method behind that, does anyone know that by chance?

A space object older than another space object? But da bible says we were here first!

    Not particularly surprising.
