Summary

North Korean soldiers have reportedly engaged in combat with Ukrainian forces in Russia’s Kursk region, marking the first known combat involving these units.

South Korea and the EU have expressed concerns about North Korea’s reported troop dispatch to Russia, while the US and UK have noted potential challenges faced by North Korean troops due to differences in language, culture, and military practices likely to impair joint operations, despite training efforts in Russian facilities.

I wonder if that’s part of the ulterior motive for NK here, getting troops with combat experience for an eventual attack on SK.

Was thinking the same thing. Will get some veterans out of this that will be able to pass down new/different tactics and strategies.

That’s running with the assumption that any North Koreans survive combat (and don’t defect) long enough to return. Which is a very generous assumption.

North Korean soldiers will have to hold seances to learn anything.

NK Captain: “Private Wan, we call to your spirit beyond the mortal realm! Tell us your wisdom!”

Private Wan: “Always look up. Because at any moment an RC helicopter with a grenade will try to land on you.”

      🤣🤣🤣

Oh you’re serious. All the training and experience in the world would not win that war.

That’s a nice jacket Kim’s got. Do you think it’s bespoke or an ‘international’ perk of being at the top of a closed society?

It’s pretty easy to die when you’ve never seen combat and are facing battle-hardened soldiers though.

Not to mention they’re likely to malnourished and uniformed about the nature of the conflict.

Russian MREs are probably the best thing they’ve eaten in their lives. They will live like kings for a very short time.
