This kind of mindset is usually the problem. It’s not as bad as each side believes the opposition is.

They guy openly gets advice from Vlad “throw them from the window” Putin.

He has stacked the Supreme Court to give him immunity to murder.

He has already stated that he is planning on throwing his opposition in jail.

He has already announced that he is planning a police state from day one.

I’m only repeating what he has said, how the fuck can you say “its not as bad as all that?”.

      What a fucking idiot.

Don’t forget selling off state secrets to the highest bidder. Literally months after Trump won the first time, he met with Vladimir Putin in a private meeting, where the Mueller Report claimed he gave Putin a list of CIA assets tasked with monitoring Russian activity. About a month after THAT, CIA agents and assets started disappearing in Russia and across Europe, almost all of them conveniently FROM THAT LIST.

He also stole state secrets after leaving office and proudly displayed those like war trophies to anyone he met with at Mar-A-Lago.

He talks shit but does barely anything all the time. The problem is that every time for the past few election cycles, the extremist supporters of each party that loses cause trouble for normal people.

Furthermore, maybe more Democrats should have been proactive in other regions in sending the message across. I contributed along with many others in my city to getting the word out and helping spread the message to try to get Kamala elected and it is disappointing to see it didn’t happen. But immediately jumping to the conclusion it’s time to riot is rash and irresponsible.

Also, no need to resort to ad hominem immediately. Was hoping to be civil.

Why do Democrats have to spread the message that Trump literally said these things?

If folks are voting for a turd in a suit and not listening to the things that he is broadcasting on Fox news then this not really the Dems fault it just sums up what the average American is like.

I’m saying overall. If you want to convince someone of something you need to actually try and do it. What I meant is help explain to people in words they might understand better why it would have been more beneficial to elect one over the other. Also the level of aggression in political ads this election period was too much. Everyone was just running a smear and fear mongering campaign against each other and that really does not help us as a society.

Even if my opinion is wrong on this. The fact that the candidate was elected through the democratic process, should dissuade rioting. That kind of show of force should be reserved for situations where someone rose to power by illegitimate means. Now if down the line Trump does something terrible (other than speaking like a moron) I’d be fully on board with more hostile measures. Protesting is okay. Rioting is going too far.

My personal stance, however popular or not it may be, is to avoid unnecessary violence.

Then what is necessary violence? When does the rhetoric of an candidate of a major party come to the point when you can call it fascist?

              Calling a politician who

              • Fetishes an imagined great past.
              • Claims immigrants are “poisoning the blood of our country”
              • Get policy advice from individuals who call themselves christian nationalists and Neo-reactionaires.
              • And has admitted to becoming a dictator on day 1 of his presidency.

a fucking fascist isn’t being too extreme. Its calling a spade a spade and a duck a duck.

Why do I have to convince anyone? I’m not American.

They heard a bunch of batshit insane things and went

              That sounds sensible

Nothing a Democrat could have done would have stopped them voting for fucking insanity. They could have literally done anything else, but chose to vote for that thing.

The rioting has already started with the Trump supporters, so I don’t know why you’re trying to tell Democrats to not riot. They weren’t going to anyway.
