I don’t think Trump is the Emperor, because he was smart. Or Darth Vader, because he was effective. I think Trump is like… the Death Star if it didn’t work properly and instead of firing lasers it randomly blasted other planets with shit.
Then while Luke and whoever are trying to deal with that, Darth Vader and the Emperor are off somewhere else doing whatever they want, because everyone’s distracted by the giant shit blaster.
Trump isn’t exactly smart, but people are biased into underestimating him which is even more of a mistake. He is easily the most competent politician in Washington and was more than smart enough to end liberal democracy.
