This comparison is fucking absurd. Billionaires actually matter to the future! Without billionaires, who will decide how I labor and to what end!? Are we going to go back to feudalism!? Dont be silly! What purpose do children serve?

When there’s a lab of peiple constantly putting them on you “for your own health”, you might consider that though.

Actually you wouldn’t. Dead billionaires generally pass along their money, so one, or more, billionaires would take their place.

Money doesn’t get distributed (unless the billionaire wanted this) to those in need.

It would get diluted between all parties. With enough rounds, there might not be any billionaires left

Yeah, even if there was no inheritance and the property was taken by the state who would sell it to private entities, that extra money won’t necessarily be spent towards those “in need” and will likely instead be spent on army or foreign aid to Israel or some shit - the usual capitalist state stuff

If we get enough force together to wipe out the billionaire donor class in 2 months, I’d be optimistic about our chances to affect how the money gets distributed afterwards. Otherwise, reload and go for round 2.

If only the titan submersible was bigger. Dont worry, I’m sure there will be a third wreckage at that exact spot at some point.

The us has 15k shot children a year?

Edit: Checked the numbers, tldr meme kinda checks out

The us has 902 Billionaires in 2025 according to wikipedia citing forbes, up from 813 in 2024.
gunviolencearchive.org gives 4410 (12-17) and 797 (0-11) children shot (injured or killed) in 2024, and even more in 2021-2023.
Since the proportion of 11y.o. and under is low, and also the proportion of accidents was quite low at 5% in 2021, it seems plausible almost all those cases are of school-age children going to school.

It does not mean the schootings happened at school ofc., which to me the meme sounded like it implied at first.

Using 2024, if we take 6% off of the schootings for children we hit exactly 2 months. If we use rounding we could take out 25% of shootings for various reasons and the meme would still hold.

Edit2: 2 months might be enough for some of those surviving billionaires to get patched up and healed out ofc, so I recommend to keep going another few months just in case.

I was extrapolating from the 2 months figure. 2800 should be last years global number of billionaires, the us listed “only” 800. This matches to 5k shot children which checks out.
          god bless burgerland

I also checked the numbers and the article doesn’t match. Its 44 per day figure would get to 16k, but their source starts “Between 2000 and 2020, the number of firearm-related deaths among children, adolescents, and young adults increased from 6998 (7.30 per 100,000 persons) to 10,186 (10.28 per 100,000 persons), according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).”.
That is lower and also includes “young adults”.
I haven’t looked deeper into it, but assume the article is doing some odd thing like distributing cases over school-days only.

So much focus in the comments on the billionaires, and so little outrage about the frequency of school shootings.

I mean, fuck neo-liberal trickle-down economics. But also fuck gun culture.

Get rid of capitalism and you’ll get rid of school shootings. Inequality and alienation are the root causes of many of our problems today.

It’s sheer exhaustion. Both over the fact that it happens so much and the fact that our hands are tied by the reich wing gun nuts and their ideology that would rather have kids die than do anything about it other than put more guns in schools. So if you can’t beat the problem, redirecting it to something hypothetically beneficial with some dark humor is what we end up doing.

What if I told you we could solve all those problems by making them a tiny bit worse first, jist for two months, and then, in turn, preventing them from even worse in the future?
