Hey now, as a 40-year-old, I find myself heavily invested in the Zachtronics Solitaire Collection on my phone—oh no. I’ve become an old solitaire lady.
NOOOOOOOOOOO
Was laughing at the meme, realized the only game I play on my phone is solitaire, flipping colorful blocks.
42 here. Been Merge Maestro for me.
I could never seem to get my head around Merge Maestro. It’s on my phone and paid for though. Maybe I’ll give it another go.
I love some basic stupid shit like moving colorful blocks when I’m half watching some basic stupid shit on tv, with a drink handy.
I didn’t know that was on mobile… Interesting. I want to love Zachtronics games, but I’m so bad at them lol. I usually enjoy the solitaire games though.
Five bucks. Worth every penny.
I just bought it lol
It’s more fun with real cards. Not as convenient, but if you pull out a deck and start playing in public, someone will stop to talk.
That’s why I keep this tiny stone-paper notebook with handwritten instructions on my favorite games, along with a narrow little air deck and a few counters.
Apologies for my handwriting, but my hands aren’t what they used to be.
that deck is sick asf
Thanks! It’s quite comfy to play with, and rides along real smooth in my bag. I know they’re out of production, but air decks can still be found here and there if you look hard enough. I picked mine up for fifteen dollars each—not bad for a PVC deck that I’ve had for like six years now.
(Also yes, I used an em-dash, no, I’m not AI, I just like em-dashes.)
We have to take the em-dashes back! Your notebook is awesome btw!
That sounds horrifying.
It’s all the lead they consumed.
That’s more boomers than middle aged people.
I wish, according to the UN leaded gasoline it was only fully phased out globally in 2011, when I, zoomer, was already in secondary school. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetraethyllead
Leaded gas is still used in propeller planes in the US
GenX caught plenty. Dad had a car that ran on regular gasoline.
Gotta crush them candies!
There was this one Tetris like mobile game ad that had awesome sound effects in the advertisement, ASMR worthy.
So I downloaded it and it was nothing like the ad, and the sound sucked.
Uninstalled and my disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined.
why do mobile ads always show terrible games, but when you wanna try the game its a different terrible game?
I was unable to find a single good match 3 game on play store. All of them had in-app purchases.
I think more and more, mobile games are just ad vehicles.
Yeah, flash games were our peak. Most games on phones nowadays are exactly that.
Merge Maestro is awesome. The free version is good free, and full version is $2. No in app purchases.
