Pretty good demonstration of PET filament pulling.
I love the idea of pet bottle filament, but afaik there is no way make the filament string continuously and not just fuse multiple one bottle long strips. In practice it downgrades the whole thing into gimmick or extreme time sink.
Combined with the fact that PET recycling is the only kind of plastic recycling that actually works well in real life, PET bottle filaments become doubly bad.
They make bad filaments, and they pull PET out of the only recycling stream that works, because prints made out of PET won’t get recycled anymore.
That’s also why in general stuff like clothing made out of recycled PET isn’t great.
Totally agree, plus PET bottle filament has inconsistent crystallinity which causes unpredictable shrinkage and warping when printnig.
