As someone who learned English as a second language and French as a third, I promise you, most people are not assholes like this. Most people are happy to hear you try and happy to help. If they’re rude, they’re just assholes and that’s a reflection on them as a person and not on your skills.

I think it’s more likely they’re just writing in BAVE, which is perfectly valid English whether white people like it or not
