I’ve known two people with PCOS, one of them is a (hot) dude now, and the other has a beautiful burlesque figure that she has to shave more than me since I started hormone therapy. XD

But yeah, women with PCOS often have elevated testosterone. That’s one of the typical symptoms of the condition they can test for.

I have hirsutism due to PCOS. I’m waxing that mofo of a mustache even though it hurts like a bitch. Ain’t got no time to waste on shaving every day lol. It’s the harmless part of having PCOS, and kinda wish it was my biggest concern about it, lol.

It’s short for Polycystic ovary syndrome. It’s an endocrine disorder that in some women causes cysts to form on ovaries, hence the name, but it’s not a universal symptom. It can affect liver function (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease or NAFLD for short), increase cholesterol, cause insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, irregular menstrual cycle, pelvic pain (especially if a cyst ruptures, that can cause extreme pain), mood changes, make it difficult to get pregnant.

Edit: ah yeah, and it can cause weight gain/obesity. One of the hardest/impossible areas to lose fat in is belly. It tends to cause a lot of self-esteem and body image issues.

It’s a possibility. But there’s plenty other stuff that can mess with liver function. Another one off the top of my head is celiac disease.

Their hair might be too light to laser. My partner ran into that when he looked into laser hair removal.

The hair tends to grow back with PCOS regardless. Some people have better results with electrolysis, but for some the hair still comes back.
