Houston and Dallas are blue enclaves you absolute dip. The people who live in those cities contain almost all the good people of Texas. Austin too. “The terrible people of Texas” so all the people of texas who aren’t Republican are just nothing to you? This is a huge state with a ton of diversity in culture and opinion. The Texas GOVERNMENT is full of terrible people, and there’s enough terrible people to vote them in, but not every Texan I’d automatically terrible. Around 10-15 years ago when that meme/stereotype was popularized , that was kind of the case. The world has moved on since then, the perception of veganism has changed, and it’s not a big deal anymore. Its easier to be vegan now, too. restaurants/grocery stores have more offerings, big brands have vegan options, people aren’t usually rude to you anymore for being vegan or asking for vegan stuff.

I think all this contributes to vegans feeling less of the need to assert themselves like before. I feel like its because people nowadays “get” it and back then most non vegan people didn’t get it.

Evolution isn’t a plan, its the result of the RaNdOm MuTaTiOnS. Which sometimes proved useful for the survival of the being that mutated, allowing them to pass on that gene. The above comment is speculating reasons that those particular mutations might have helped them and therefore allowed them to live to breed.

That’s a great instinct to have in the current landscape, but keep in mind the rise of machine learning is happening. And there are a few really cool and good use-cases for it. So it might be a hindrance to yourself to automatically throw out anything to do with “AI”, you might find something cool to use it for.

For instance, as a hobbyist graphic designer, I use a local instance of Stable Diffusion these days instead of Photoshop to make quick photo edits, saving me hours of manually masking out objects and filling in the blanks.

Crypto never got this far, not even a little. It may or may not always be around in some form as alternative currency but I think that’s about all it will ever be useful for.

That sounds almost exactly like youre picking up radio signals. This exact thing has happened to me before, I even picked up a local religious station like I’m assuming you did. Some of the churches in my area have their own little radio broadcast antennas and thats why I think their signal was the one to cut through. Speakers and headphones have been been able to pick this stuff up for like as long as both technologies have existed. You’re not crazy and tons of people have been through this

Im going to use this comment to explain this idea to people. Im a lefty too and I grew up almost just like you. Whenever I try to explain this , it always comes out like I’m an apologist for all the crappy stuff they do and it makes people think I’m a closeted conservative. I have never once seen this explained so perfectly and succinctly. Thanks for sharing, really

Old=boomer sorry. That’s just the way it turned out, nothing we can do about it. Raging against new slang is just gonna make us more out of touch, and intensify the feeling of being old, so I just accept it and try to keep up. Boomer is old now, not just the Baby Boomers.

The NVIDIA drivers getting removed during an update has happened to me THREE times in the last 3 months. In that same time frame I saw an LTT video where they had the same problem, and now this meme with the same problem again. What the actual heck is going on here? I just run the system update command and it says it has to uninstall the drivers due to some conflict with a system package. Then it reboots to the screen in the right image above. Im still trying different distros and configurations but it’s almost enough to make me give up. As lame as windows is I can at least expect an update not to completely brick my system (most of the time).

It’s not just a car theft tool, its not really even intended for that. It’s just a neat little multi tool and it isn’t even close to the first or only device capable of repeating recorded codes. A hammer can be used to break into a car really easily and nobody’s ever called those “car theft tools disguised as hand-tools”

After avast broke my windows installation TWICE I’m staying FAR away from anything they make. I wasn’t the only one affected, it was a widespread issue at the time. Don’t trust them with your stuff.
