  • someone genuinely interested for intellectual reasons would likely not fall for it. I would imagine that a non-trivial percentage of “antiquity enjoyers” are very light on history substance and heavy on history feelz.

once the appropriate brain tickles have been pushed into their heads their “history substance” feed content becomes decidedly propagandized.

    unqualified internet rando comment…

avoiding responsibility is a coping mechanism as well as a symptom for a host of significant, but treatable, physiological psychological issues. couple this with a demonstrated history of physical violence (I am trusting the state on this one) makes this difficult.

my own experience suggests to me that you may want to ensure that your brother is consistently seeing a qualified professional and an effective medication regime is in place, being followed to the letter and has demonstrated positive results before you reengage. without 3rd party qualified professional help things are not likely to get better and may get worse.

I am sorry you, your brother and those around this situation are hurting. please stay safe.

edit: emphasis on word and autocorrect.

  • hI there. I wasnt making a comment on the article or interpreting what he said. I was giving anecdotal, localized info for those who may want it. not sure why you read anything else into it.

he’s a southern gov in a southern state who campaigns on and follows through on bill vetos targeting marginalized goups, supporting and expanding the ACA, funding youth crime diversion programs, etc, etc, etc. so yes, “surprisingly progressive” in a state with a supermajority republican legislature.

NC is a state in transition, but its slow dirty work dragging this state forward. don’t know where you are, but if its the southern US I am interested in hearing why you disagree with the cooper assessment.

    edit: typo; clarify

  • I understand your point here, but the “both sides bad” really loses the plot when the death, destruction and suffering by the most innocent is astronomically asymmetrical.

at this juncture I don’t give a shit if every combatant is the devil himself. stop the flow of kid killing weaponry and get appropriate humanitarian aid in.

20fucking24 and we still cannot pull our thumbs out of our collective asses, put the homicidal money machine into neutral and stop mowing down kids. fuck us all, every goddamn one of us.
