Letterkenny and Shoresy are SO good. Jared Keeso is a brilliant comedian and has a knack for heartfelt story.
Also, wrestling counts. I’m an AEW girl but no tribalism from me. Who’s your wrestler to watch, or storyline you love?
Extraordinary Attorney Woo - A Netflix K-drama about an autistic savant lawyer. It’s charming, funny, and has a really beautiful story overall.
Bofuri: I Don’t Want To Get Hurt, So I’ll Max Out My Defense - a cute and fun anime about Maple, who doesn’t want to get hurt in a VR MMO so she maxes her defense and becomes a hero.
I like light-hearted shows, so I’ll be checking out a few of the ones in this thread 🙂
Migas! It’s a TexMex egg dish.
Beat eggs with salt, pepper, and cumin. Let them stand for 10 minutes, then dice a jalapeno and an equal amount of onion. Fry them for a couple of minutes, then add minced garlic. When the garlic is just fragrant, beat the eggs back to foaminess, then add to the pan. Let them set for about 45 seconds, then add a big dollop of salsa and mix. When the eggs are almost done to your liking, add a handful of cheese (I like cheddar or Oaxaca), and crumble in a handful of tortilla chips, the more stale the better. Let everything sit covered for a minute or two, then serve!
I like mine with extra jalapeno, and if I’m feeling saucy I add chorizo.
Comfort Eagle has some great songs but I agree, Pressure Chief has the best flow overall.
I was one of the people who did my homework exercises, and still do (mostly). It’s worked well enough.
I’ve mentioned it elsewhere, but I saw Akira when I was four and my brother was three. Our dad picked it out because “animation is for children”.
I can’t remember much of it but it left me with a deep distate for body horror and nightmares for literal weeks.
It’s true, but they do exist!
Something Awful has been around since the very early 2000s, and they charge $10 to get an account, and the same to reinstate a banned account. It’s actually pretty nice because the fee tends to keep all but the most dedicated trolls from doing anything particularly stupid. And yes, I know they created 4chan, but the main forums are trying to be better people over the years.
Same. They’ve replaced Pink Ladies as my favorite. The texture and perfect amount of sweetness make them such a joy!
“you can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you find you get what you need”. - the great philosopher Jagger
I may not always get exactly what I want, but if I put in the effort and do my best, I find that sometimes what I want is not what I needed in the end.
Motor oil is a smell that I really like. It’s from growing up around mechanic shops, I think.
I hate the smell of sandalwood. It’s just overwhelming and I can’t get past the heaviness of it. My coworkers use a tobacco and sandalwood scented room spray and I want to gag every time.
My dad used to use that one all the time. The PG version was “go take a long walk off a short pier”.
Agreed! I’m also grossed out by the people who would get the Passion tea (which is made with hibiscus and lemongrass, and is very acidic) with heavy cream. It curdled damn near instantly and was just… nasty.
I used to work at Starbucks and we’d make weird shit out of curiosity. The best one was uncut cold brew coffee and their strawberry refresher base. Uncut cold brew and lemonade wasn’t terrible but way too acidic for my liking.
My partner had another of the holiday packs. He said most of them were okay but not awful, but the Buttered Roll soda tasted like carbonated butter and it was horrible.
I read One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest when I was eleven. Some of the nonsense rhyme still comes back to me when I’m tired - she’s a good fisherman, catches hens, puts em inna pens / wire, briar, limber lock, three geese inna flock.
I also read She’s Come Undone and I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb when I was in high school. Both are extremely fucked when it comes to talking about mental health and hospitalizations.
Depeche Mode at the United Center in Chicago is definitely the one that blew me away the most. Their opening act hit the resonance point of the building and shook the whole thing, and Dave Gahan is such a showman. Everyone in the audience was reaching toward him and singing along with Personal Jesus.
Seeing the Red Elvises is always a treat too, but my partner and I caught them fresh off of touring with The Reverend Horton Heat and they played an incredible set that included a cover of Let Me Teach You How to Eat, and their songs from the movie Six String Samurai (Love Pipe and Boogie on the Beach). They even did a cover of Misirlou that night!
I am! I don’t post much though.
I love both Penta and Fenix, and would deeply love to see Fenix vs Je’Von Evans. Right now I’m psyched for Wrestledream, but I’m not a Mercedes Mone fan and I think that’s an unpopular opinion over in SC.
Also Emi Sakura is my Queen, full stop. She’s just a fantastic person and has such a great career!
