And then you’re stuck constantly reminding every family member which app to use on which device when they come to you because they’re getting ads or something isn’t working right.

For a single power use that’s fine, for a family with kids, it’s nearly impossible without going crazy and killing them.

  • For many, actively supporting Israeli genocide is something they simply can’t support.

If there’s anything that this election has proven, it’s that there are A LOT of one issue voters in this country, across the board. They’ll ignore everything else for the one issue they care about above all else. And when you only have two viable parties, that forced a black and white decision.

The fundamental solution is eradicating First Past the Post and getting ranked choice voting so we have a multitude of parties that are all more nuanced instead.

But that won’t happen unless we abandon both of the major parties we have now, and they can’t let that happen because that means they lose power.

  • He doesn’t need to pardon himself.

But he will. No reason to leave that to chance in the future. He already didn’t do that once, requiring him to get back into office. A pardon doesn’t need to be explicit about the crimes it’s pardoning. Just look at Nixon’s pardon as a template:

Now, Therefore, I, Gerald R. Ford, President of the United States, pursuant to the pardon power conferred upon me by Article II, Section 2, of the Constitution, have granted and by these presents do grant a full, free, and absolute pardon unto Richard Nixon for all offenses against the United States which he, Richard Nixon, has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 20, 1969 through August 9, 1974.

Just change it to Trump’s name and the period to “prior to January 20th, 2025”, and you’ve got a complete federal pardon for anything Trump has *ever *done in his life.

  • I have no idea how the Democrats do this shit every fucking time.

Oh it’s simple. They’re paid by billionaires not to.

The Democratic party hasn’t been like that for 30+ years, at least the 90s. They’re a fiscally conservative party, and socially liberal. The only “liberal” part of the party is on issues that affect people like LGBTQ support or abortion, not anything dealing with the country or economy. The US hasn’t had an actual liberal party for decades, as soon as they started accepting billions in donor funds.

  • Not only that, it was clear Trump was gaining voters because he said, “yeah, shit’s fucked, I’ll change it” and the Dems kept insisting “it’s really not that bad”. To people who have it hard, one party telling you that you’re just wrong and nothing will change, and the other saying they’ll change things for the better is a pretty obvious choice. Even if they’re lying about making it better, it’s already bad, and your other option is the same bad, why not give it a try?

  • No, a portion of their actual election fraud plans were completely successful, in the weeks leading up to the election the stacked courts allowed GOP states to purge voter rolls with no notice to those that were removed, and after registration deadlines. It’s only “legal” because the court said it was, because they’re supposed to be the oversight to prevent fraud and abuse.

There is nothing to actually stop the courts from claiming something clearly illegal and in direct contradiction to the law as written is just fine. It would appeal up to the Supreme Court, whose decision is final, period. The only response would be for Congress to Impeach them and a new court to revisit the case. And that’ll never happen with our extremely partisan Congress.

This is why the Republicans have focused on the Judicial for over 50 years. They realized that it’s the only part of the government that actually has power to override anything else single-handedly. Just get a small majority in Congress (not even if you get the opposing side fragmented a bit) and the Sourts can do whatever the fuck they want with no resistance.

  • From what I’ve seen it’s people angry at the status quo and looking for a change in a desperate effort.

This. Both the Biden and Harris campaign were focused on “it’s not actually that bad, but it’ll be worse under Trump”. And for a lot of people, it IS that bad. All they heard from Harris was that it will be more of the same, and the same isn’t working for a lot of Americans.
