I live in a hot, humid environment. Keeping bread in the fridge helps it to stay good for multiple weeks. If I leave it out, it molds way quicker. I also sometimes will store bread in the freezer to keep it fresh even longer if I know I’m just going to make toast out of it.

  • It is incredibly odd…isn’t it? So many words saying very little.

To OP, I think it would help others to give you advice if you say exactly what sort of plans you had that didn’t work out. Plans not working out come in all shapes and sizes, and advice for one thing doesn’t necessarily apply to another.

If it’s a relationship you seem to desire, then asking for more relationship focused advice may be more fruitful than vaguebooking and not getting much in the way of useful responses.

  • Seriously, I found out that my bank chain switched their opening hours to being 10a-4p and most branches are closed on the weekends. It’s not even 40 hours of opening time for the week!

What the fuck kind of a schedule is this? Granted, I’ve hardly ever needed to go to a branch in person because the majority of things can be done online or at an atm, but still. Some things you do occasionally need to visit in person for…like getting a cashier’s check which I had to do recently.

Thankfully the last time I needed one, I was able to drive far away to a location that was open for a couple of hours on Saturday but Jesus Christ.

What’s wrong with liking both form and function in an item? Especially because I hardly use a mouse or keyboard in a way that I would call it a “tool” like a power drill. That’s great if you need something like that, but a lot of us are more casual users and would appreciate something that matches our taste when it’s displayed on a desk all day. Your power tools don’t just sit out on your computer desk all day, do they?

I have been rocking an off brand Chinese mechanical tenkeyless (a must for my space) keyboard for 10 years now and a Logitech triathlon M720 mouse secondhand for a slightly shorter amount of time. A great combo for me and the keyboard can be lighted or off in any color I choose. It doesn’t constantly strobe at you unless you want it to.

I used an android app called “Just Run”. It’s a free couch to 5K app with no ads. Downside is it’s very simple and it only trains you on the length of your runs, not your distance. So I paired it with a cheap smartwatch to figure out how far I was going. I didn’t make it to 5k at the end of the app (altho I was able to run for 30 mins straight like the app trains you), but I continued to run afterwards now only using my smartwatch.

Initially I was going to run more frequently, but through the advice on the app, I found that it’s best to have at least one rest day in between runs. So I run every one to two days ideally unless I have something going on. It feels less pressuring and draining to do that way too.

Initially, my feet and knees (and even a bit of my chest from using my breathing muscles more lol) hurt a lot, but I just went slow and kept at it and eventually my body got used to running and now everything is fine. I do have mild chronic pain in my left foot, but I think it’s unrelated because it started happening before I picked up running.

Maybe a bit tmi, but I always be sure to take a dump in the morning before I go out for a run lol!!

Good luck! Remember, you don’t have to be Usain Bolt!

  • Similar experience but with an absolutely massive cockroach (“Palmetto bug” for those wondering the scale). I freaked the fuck out lol. I thought my arm was just itchy but it didn’t go away and I looked down and started flailing everywhere.

Sometimes I have an itchy feeling and get paranoid that there is a bug on me. And there almost never is so usually I ignore it. But occasionally there actually is a bug on me so I’m not just imagining!

  • This is hardly related to anything at all, but be careful about using your university email as a login for too many things. At least at my university, we only have access to the email for the duration we were in school (and a bit of a grace period afterwards). So afterwards it can be a real pain to switch over a bunch of accounts. And if you forget to switch them over in time you can lose access to them.
