Do you think Vance is going to be better?
It’s a pity that social policies are blamed for the fucked up history of the east instead of the real culprits - totalitarian regimes.
And it’s important to understand that those can develope anywhere, no matter whether the country is more socialistic or capitalistic or religious.
That still seems like the end of NATO to me. No need to leave, just make it disfunctional.
To be fair, the fear of repeating the terrible wars that started in Europe was strong even after European countries recovered. I suppose it didn’t look like the greatest idea to let Germany or anyone really to have a super strong army.
The bonds are deteriorating beyond repair. This won’t be enough. Trump win will embolden the rising far right in EU countries. There’s no good thing, I’m afraid. Sorry for my pessimism.
They’re not. They’re ready to screw themselves as well.
Who’s going to war with whom? To me it seems more likely that all the countries are going to embrace totality peacefully.
Yes, that’s the problem. But how do you raise better people? Good education can give you better understanding of societal problems. Equality and tolerance can be taught, just like rasism and hate can be taught. A good education system can be the only way to cultivate people if the hate runs in the families. It takes several generations to make things better though.
I don’t think people will commit massive violence to save their rights. The majority just conforms to the regime (which many of them voted for and are comfortable with) and the minority is too weak. I think they’re going to obey and suffer quietly rather than risk direct oppression. Just like in other totalitarian countries.
Well, POTUS is not just a national polititian, they do international politics as well. They influence the whole world directly in a big way. People from many other countries feel the same as Americans.
And with medicinal properties ;) A bit tricky to get though.
You’re perfectly right. And it’s not just about energy, which there is a lot of in oils and proteins too. In nature, the sweetest things you’ll get are different kinds of fruit - all packed full of vitamins, antioxidants, fiber and whatnot. And they’re seasonal, so if you don’t eat them right away, you’re going to have to wait another year. So our taste makes us eat as much as we can. Sugar, of cours, is cheating.
(I just happen to be on my way to buy some pastries.)
I think the one who cooks should do things their way and the others should not interfere unless there’s some kind of medical concern.
I feel like it’s a low iq thing not to be able to fill in a shortened word from context. New words like rizz, on the other hand, they just have to be learnt.
You can vaccinate the bitten human right away without any test, which is how it’s really done. Waiting for test results is not a good idea. If the vaccine didn’t work (it does work if administered in time), then there would be no help for the person. Testing is unnecessary.
It’s ok to eat a bit more nutritious food when it’s cold - your natural body heating costs energy.
Cover your head when outside, your head loses an unreasonable amount of heat.
If your bed’s too cold in the evening, buy a heating pad - a warm bed feels awsome.
If your hands get painfully cold, more excruciating pain may be waiting for you when they start to heat back up. To avoid the additional pain, put your hands under cold tap water first - I promise it’s going to feel warm. Then increase the heat slowly until your hands are warm again.
I think there’s some kind of general fascination with rich people ingrained naturally in the human mind. It’s not just in comics. It’s present in many fairy tales, mythology, religious books…
Iagree it can help the rich to get away with things. But I also think it’s not fair to blame authors for using good old archetypes, while I also support kindhearted critique of those archetypes - it’s important to understand their role in social context and to make authors aware of the downsides.
I haven’t seen Prometheus - the reviews talking about stupid characters were too much for me. Are you saying the characters are not really stupid, just have way too much enthusiasm for their scientific field to care for their safety?
In that case I may give it a try.
Marty failed. Wft.
