  • I agree with you, even if you are downvoted. I’ve wrecked more in-ear buds by (non-replaceable) broken cable than i can count, while i’m on my 3rd bluetooth headphone in about 10 years - i lost none of them, and the second one is still around as backup.

The security is a thing that can be patched if it pops up and is only an issue if your OPSEC differs strongly from the common citizen, and the energy argument comes across like a purity test - the light in my fridge probably uses more energy.

I would never go back to cable, especially since noise cancelling doesn’t work without a battery anyway - and i am very unhappy without noise cancelling.

Also, i have a power bank where i can use 21600 Li-ion Battery cells as power source (and it doubles as charger for those cells) - on travels i take a few batteries with me, and even if i find myself for weeks without power, i will have it whenever i need it.

  • Mold = dust/residues + dampness. Clean your bottles, and keep them dry when out of use - you can keep water filled bottles pretty long in the fridge.

My 4 year old bottles stay filled in the fridge; when a bottle travels with me, coming home i wash them with my bottle brush and a small amount of dish soap and either fill them right back up and put them in the fridge again, or i keep the cap off and let them dry thoroughly putting them upside down so droplets can get out. Anything else is just an invitation for mold.

I find it fascinating that a fungus can take over an ant and use it’s body to climb up on grass to get eaten. i wonder how the lived experience of that fungus changes over it’s phases; does he get vision when controlling the ant? how does it feel to suddendly have legs when you are a fungus?

  • Ok, since you keep shittalking about dbzer0.com, i want to add something here. (I’m a regular on dbzer0)

First of all, we keep our instance pretty bot-free. It’s been a while since i registered, but all applications are getting reviewed before an account is active. We do have singular bots for administrative things, but you can be sure that db0 would stop obvious bot activity pretty fast.

And regarding AI - it’s not that we go out into the fediverse and proselytize. We have a few communities regarding GenAI, but the opposite is the case: we 'Ä****

had to implement a rule to stop external mass downvoting and brigading in those communities, because instead of an discussion about the image generated, external users started the (always the same) discussion about how evil GenAI is.vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvdgggggggggggggg
