One of my measures of how good a manager is would be how they come into a room. A good manager (I’ve had a few) will come in and silently assess how things are running (because they’ve already looked up info themselves) or ask specific questions that show they understand the state of things and are there to help if needed.

Pull the “how are things looking” crap, and the rating drops quickly. And the funny thing is, the ones who do that didn’t actually want to hear the bad news I will eagerly pull up to drown them in. The look on their faces is worth it.

Basically, I can glean how much a manager knows about an operation by what first comes out of their mouth, and way too often it’s not much that’s useful.

They are. For the shareholders. This is what they wanted, and how the economy is measured. Line go up, yay!

That’s an outlier because of Covid. I will grant that AFTER enabling the pandemic spread Trump finally got the ball moving for vaccines and some recovery, and Biden continued that. He gave credit where credit was due though and didn’t revise history, which is what this meme is all about. Trump does things only to get his name on it (recovery checks), and twists things to make it seem like he is the source of all that is great (and not of anything bad).

Just have to look at climate science for an example of science taking a backseat to political will.

You know the CEOs they bring in to help deconstruct a dying company for its assets? Why would you need an EPA agency when you aren’t protecting anything anymore?

The timing of all this, as well as multiple conversations with Trump right after the election, can’t be coincidence. It suggests a green light was given, which would mean there was still caution while it was uncertain who would be in office.

If the Constitution and related things persist, it will be the last Trump term. And maybe some lessons learned on the way on why the GOP in control is a bad thing.

You forgot racism, a quiet cornerstone of the Southern Strategy. Not as quiet now, since it worked so well in growing a solid voter base who is now more encouraged when those parts are shouted loudly. Could be why Roe v. Wade was allowed to disappear, didn’t need that windmill to charge at anymore.

I think that’s the most disappointing part. His win is valid, the will of the majority of Americans. Why they picked this direction (and mostly who to blame) is what everyone is arguing about. The sad part is the MAGA fanatics will never see the irony that their decision is acknowledged by the rest and no insurrection is done, only preparation to save people from the fallout. They can’t see the difference in behavior as they laugh at the “liberal tears”. We’re crying for the state of the country, something they can’t conceive.

I thought we had a good idea what was where in orbit. How is this a sudden surprise? I had first read it thinking that it had drifted recently for some reason, but it’s been in that place for 50 years. I get that as more satellites go up things become more risky, but this should have been a known problem a long time ago.

Any Prime Directive was broken a long time ago when a stargate was plopped down on the planet and someone using it claimed themselves as gods. SG-1 shouldn’t even be wandering around if anyone was adhering to rules from the beginning.

I can’t prove a negative. I wasn’t aware of FEMA workers being threatened in Florida like in NC and TN. I also can’t seem to find any news about it, only about the earlier. Doesn’t mean it’s not true, it’s just that the idea of people attacking those trying to help them didn’t seem to be in both places based on a search.

You’re correct that more information in an investigation will bring light to what happened, however I’m going by the info in the article and not just the title, and there is more info there. Your last part suggests you’re referring to the other storm’s area and FEMA threats there, not in Florida.
