you know what I always stan for? “former Twitter”. I just love that shit! I hope it always stays like this to show that the rebranding didn’T work
Wow a true retro misogynist meme. In the spirit of 2005, when this first circulated, let me repeat the same punchline:
“The animals warn predator, if you’re repelled by it, it’s working as intended”
that’s satire, right? has to be. please. “unemployed minors”, that’s just a fancy phrase for “children” who ARE IN SCHOOL
“Back in my day” post, if I’ve ever seen one.
I mean you have wikihow but it’s not really high-quality all the way through. There doesn’t exist one guide. All of these topics are highly debatable, have different opinions with far different perspectives. Some things you just have to figure out yourself with the help given to you. Means: get as much info as possible, compare, talk to others, reflect on your own experience and expectations.
There is no “one better way” to do these common tasks. And many companies spend an insane amount of money to spread (mis)information on how best to eat, exercise, get to work, clean, dress, wash… So I don’t believe there’s “objectively” one way to do anything. Find your way.
Well I have 4 decades already and I’ve read a lot of books. Light and heavy. Because that’s what life and art is about. I don’t believe in comfort food all the time. Sometimes you just need the poetry of hardship.
To be fair: I am currently reading “how high we go in the dark” by Sequoia Namamatsu. It’s so sad. It’s speculative fiction, but everything is too real and too sad.
Being an adult means also confrontation with sad topics
You’re just talking to be correct? Fine, you’re right. Have a peaceful life
That’s beside the point. If you only care about your hygiene because of others, you’re neglecting your own comfort. I’m not wearing deodorant, for example, because I don’t want to. I’m still not smelly in the negative sense (yes I asked), because I take showers regularly - and I take showers regularly because I care about my own body
I don’t agree in the slightest. Because if you care, you won’t do that probably. Self care is not about others, but about yourself, hence “self”. If you only bathe, are gentle, dress… because of others, maybe you have different issues
“Stop worrying what other people think” is bad advice anyway. It’s not like that’s a possibility for people with anxiety. Give concrete advice: self affirmation, reflective writing, journaling positive feedback…
No the issue is literally the micro rentals. Because before that, we had couchsurfing. Which was all the great things about spending time in a different city staying with locals WITHOUT stupid infrastructure to fuck up the whole country
I mean I don’t like what they’re doing to the housing market, yes, they’re inflating housing prices by reducing the incentive to sell, and there’s a housing crisis basically everywhere right now.
errrr…you said it right here. AirBnB is created to do exactly that. the product isn’t good. the product is designed to create inflated housing prices. to make landlords even more rich and more able to exploit poor people. look at some tourist-y cities, where the original residents can no longer live in their houses, because it’s SO MUCH more profitable to rent per day on airbnb than to have normal rents. airbnb doesn’t provide anything. it doesn’t add anything positive. hotels are too expensive, maybe. but they have a service. they have some guarantees, room service, food, you’re guaranteed to have a room to sleep in by yourself. NONE of these are guaranteed with AirBnB. you can easily rent a room where you have to sleep with another person, clean up by yourself, pay stupid deposits,…
what even is ONE positive out of Airbnb?
Nah, I’m an okay person. Sure I do bad things. I make mistakes and have problematic behaviour patterns from time to time. But I am working on it. That’s what makes a “good” or “bad” person. It’s almost never about what you do but mostly about intent and willingness to learn
Oh man. So many and so much. Most of the “comedy” from the 80s, 90s, early 2000s is unwatchable. Older movies are sometimes straight up disgusting. I think it’s a sign for how we grow as a society to be more aware of the sexism, racism and other forms of disrespect that has been sold as comedy or just as “normal”. I consume much more consciously and through a more meta lense. For reference: I’m turning 40 this year
You know what’s “funny”. Vegans DO fund not only alternatives but also meat subsidies with the taxes on vegan food. For meat to be as cheap as it is, a lot of tax money is going into the industry
As that vegan: thank you for trying :)
