  • Why would that even be a possibility if God loves us all?

    And don’t say it’s him simply respecting our decisions. If he knows something is bad for us but we don’t understand, we don’t have full knowledge of the consequences of our actions. Nobody has actually been to hell and come back. We don’t actually even know if he’ll exists. And yet, people who are convinced by available evidence that a man named Jesus was actually God and died and came back to life are exiled to an eternity of [not torment exactly] and that God insists that this was our own decision and doesn’t let us change our mind?

    If your kid said they didn’t want to wear a seatbelt, you wouldn’t just let them not wear a seatbelt and then throw your hands up and say “there’s nothing I could do! I have to respect their decision!” Why is a perfectly loving God incapable (or unwilling) or protecting us from ourselves?
