minus-squareIceblade@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up6·10 天前I unironically have several folks around who’ve moved over to OpenSUSE after me. Criminally underrated, now if only they could get the board in order…
minus-squarepmk@lemmy.sdf.orglinkfedilinkarrow-up3·9 天前I have a perception based mainly on a feeling, but is it true that the opensuse community is mainly Suse employees actually deciding what happens?
minus-squareIceblade@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up3·9 天前Not exactly. There is very much a symbiotic relationship between the company and the community, even if the latter is more an oblique blob of FOSS projects. You can get a smidge of insight by having a looksie here: https://forums.opensuse.org/t/project-governance/179441/31
minus-squarepmk@lemmy.sdf.orglinkfedilinkarrow-up1·8 天前That was an interesting read. I am even more confused about the community part. When Debian switched to systemd it was a very… lively public discussion with lots of people stating their opinions. It seems to me like the opensuse world is different.
minus-squareMechanite@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up6·10 天前My reason for choosing openSUSE was admittedly shallow but I’m here to represent our team!
minus-squareThelsim@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkarrow-up4·9 天前I’m a happy OpenSUSE user, but is there a mrs. Chad I can be instead? :)
Yup. OpenSUSE here.
