What about this flag 🇦🇶
Either…
- I work in Antarctica or in an Antarctica related field.
- I don’t identify with my nation state, I identify more with my constituent country, but my flag isn’t available (me until the 🏴 emoji was officially introduced).
- Am penguin.
- Am penguin.
The new official unofficial Linux flag.
ALBA GU BRÀTH!
“Northern Oppression” is a very broad term for you
Reminds me of a line from Good Omens:
Shadwell hated all southerners and, by inference, was standing at the North Pole.
🏴 = the worst person in the world
Could be worse, could be 🇬🇧, which either means…
- I work for the British Government.
- I have views that make 🏴 look like an anarchist.
- I’m a northern Irish unionist who’ll show you racism and bigotry you didn’t even think was possible.
There’s another, even more heinous thing it might indicate you often see as indicator even for whole websites…
- I speak english
They may use 🇺🇲 as an alternative, but that may indicate them being utterly lost.
I think the “what” one kind of means “I want peace for everyone”… Not everyone in Israel is evil and not everyone in Russia is evil. The actions of one country’s government aren’t representative of the beliefs of everyone in said country. Maybe the people using those emoji believe in a world where nations can coexist without bombing and attacking and villainizing each other. Maybe they’re optimists.
But who knows? It’s just emoji…
“I want peace for everyone but neither Hamas nor Netanyahu” also has emoji: ☪️✡️
Pretty sure peace in general already has dedicated symbolism. Like 🕊️ or 🍕.
In the context of that war, of course. Also, these can be used separately, for example ✡️🇵🇸 by a Jew in support of Palestinian statehood.
and this? 🌍🌎🌏 < 🇪🇪
This is weirdly accurate.
