    Contrary to what I think OP’s position is, I think Lemitors are distinguished from mainstream audiences in that we tolerate or prefer an environment where censorship is impossible. Defederation doesn’t silence anyone, it just plugs your ears.

      On a individual level. I completely agree with you.

      It’s when large instances with large user bases. Get very opinionated and start to defederate from other instances for differences of politics or opinions, but not bad behavior. That’s where I think Lemmy swings too far into censorship

        Curation is not censorship. Telling you that I will no longer contribute my personal resources to platforming your message is not censorship.
