Ive read parts of the wikipedia page on it and it says the chinese gov states there were around 20 soldiers killed, but it doesnt mention civilians killed, plus a bunch of injured people.

300 is the bare minimum students killed and thats the chinese gov number. Its likely 1200 (most supported number) or 10,000 (my schizo number that I choose to believe based off a single unsubstantiated source). There were at least 10k injured since army was firing live rounds into the crowd.
